Sat the 18th August saw the Nansledan Community get together for the third Stret Party.
Our original site for the BBQ had to be changed due to the field not being in a good state. But that did not dampen spirits as we headed back to the last years venue the courtyard at Stret Lugan.
Bunting up, BBQ built, (after much cursing I might add) and we were ready to go. Weather held out and the neighbours slowly drifted towards the smell of cooked burgers, sausages and kebabs. Big thanks to Shuttercraft for lending us their gazebo. The day started of with a slight drizzle but it was not long before the sun was shining down on Nansledan. It was wonderful to see so many neighbours, especially the new comers, get together for chat, food and the odd beer/ wine.
Games a plenty to keep the bairns occupied while the adults chatted. Lots of happy children and excited faces as everyone found a little treat in pass the parcel. Well done Jim for ensuring the music stopped at a different smiley face each time. My plan to get the adults v the kids in direct competition failed to materialise as they ducked and dived at the mention of “we need some adults for this game”…. spoil sports the lot of em!!!! Next year.
There was no rest for the wicked though as Fin tugged at my T-shirt every 10 minutes saying “when’s the next game”. To his credit I learnt some new games as Fin was eager to share his knowledge of the games he plays at school. A teacher in the making I’m sure. There was some time throughout the day to take some snaps with the best ones up on the gallery. We’re now looking forward to next year and hopefully the play area/park will be ready and even more of the Nansledan family can enjoy the fun.
