The community litter picking event included a very thought-provoking presentation by local resident Jo Ruxton MBE about marine conservation and the importance of the oceans in climate change.
To encourage children to look carefully while out litter picking, a group of Rock Bugs escaped and if found by the children and returned, there were rewards. These were a set of pebbles painted as various bugs which were hidden around the search area on the morning.
Thank you to Newquay Garden Centre who donated a sack of pebbles to Nansledan Youth Club and to the Youth club for letting us borrow the bugs.
