Nansledan Christmas 2022

Updated: Jan 8, 2023

The new Nansledan Community Association 2022/23 Committee got off to a great start with this year’s community Christmas event. On Friday 2nd December, we had the Christmas Tree Light switch on, which saw the local Community and visitors pour into the streets around Home Nansledan and Parc Mengleudh.

The shops stayed open for late night Christmas shopping. Our cafes offered tasty treats with a festive theme. Wild Bake Pizza was serving their outstanding freshly made pizzas. The Pendragon Minstrels Band played Christmas carols and popular tunes to keep the shoppers entertained.

The weather was perfect crisp and dry, just what is needed for a Christmas event. Our little community looked festive and it was a joy to see so many people meeting and greeting and having fun.

Father Christmas made a special appearance and led the children and their parents into the Park for the 2nd big tree switch on. Many of the children came with their brightly lit lanterns which they had made at Skol Nansledan.

A big thankyou to Lawrence and Perry from Solve Media who sponsored the Lights, Brendan and Chris from CGFry along with Harry and his team from the Duchy site who helped out and put the trees in place and decorate them with the lights.

A special thanks to all the Businesses, the Duchy Team and the residents who donated prizes for the raffle which raised £172. With all the money going towards the treats for Santa’s Grotto. A great evening was had by all.

Following on from the Christmas light switch on, the NCA also hosted Santa’s and his helpers in the first ever Nansledan Santa’s Grotto. Thanks to Amanda from Langleys Chocolates and Helen, William and Theresa for their hard work and effort in making a cosy colourful grotto.

Almost 100 children visited Santa at the Hub on Saturday10th December to meet Father Christmas and each child brought a gift for Santa, an item of food for the Food Bank!

Christmas in Nansledan just gets better and better each year. Roll on Christmas 2023.
