We want everyone who uses the Nansledan Community Centre to have a safe and positive experience. Please take a moment to read the terms below – they help us keep the space in good condition and available for all.
✅ Before Your Hire
- If you’re hiring the centre as a business, charity, or organisation, we’ll need proof of Public Liability Insurance before your booking begins.
- If you’d like to serve alcohol, please get in touch in advance for permission. In some cases, (adult Parties for instance)a refundable deposit of £100 may be required to cover potential damage.
🧹 When You Leave
- Please leave the centre clean and tidy, and we would ask that you return the room to the layout you found it in. The layout info is available on the notice board and on the walls around the centre.
- Switch off all heaters, lights in the main room at the end of your session. Kitchen and toilet lights are motion-activated and will turn off automatically.
- Taps in the kitchen and toilets must also be turned off.
- Bins are provided for small amounts of general waste. However, we would ask that you take any extra waste (create from a workshop or party etc) home with you when you vacate the centre.
💡 Booking and Cancellations
- The NCA reserves the right to cancel a booking at any time if needed. We’ll always try to avoid this, but no compensation will be offered.
- Cancellations made less than 5 working days before the booking will be charged in full.
- If a booking is confirmed but not used, it will still be charged.
- If your session runs over the agreed time, we’ll charge for the extra time used.
🔐 Safety and Responsibilities
- The hirer is responsible for ensuring all guests know the fire evacuation procedure, If a fire alarm sounds then vacate the centre through the nearest fire exit and make your way to the overspill car park at Kew An Lergh.
- The hirer is responsible for any damage to the centre or its contents caused during their booking, and will be asked to cover the cost of repairs.
- For some bookings a damage deposit may be required as part of the booking process. This will be returned after the event, if no damage has occurred.
- The NCA accepts no responsibility for loss or damage to personal belongings, goods, or equipment brought into the centre.
- Please make sure your event is conducted in a respectful and orderly way, with no disturbance to residents and neighbours or the public in genera;.
- We cannot accept any liability for vehicles parked in connection with your booking.
🚫 What Not to Do
- Do not remove furniture or equipment from the centre.
- Please do not attach anything to the walls using Nails, screws, Blu Tac or tape. Use the notice board provided if you need to put anything up. You can use the picture rails if you need to hang anything.
👧 Bookings Involving Children
- For any events involving under-18s, there must be adult supervision at all times.
- At least one adult must hold a DBS check and one must have safeguarding training (excluding children’s birthday parties).
- For children’s birthday parties, a parent or carer must be present at all times.
💷 Payments
- Invoices must be paid within 14 days of receiving them. Late payments may result in future bookings being cancelled.
- Last minute bookings must be made as soon as you receive the invoice.
🔐 Data Protection
- Your personal information will be kept for 12 months after your booking and will never be shared.
